Hand-Stitched Denim Knit Shorts

This collection updates vintage clothing with knitwear. This knitwear recreates a pair of vintage Levi's denim shorts. Crafted from a denim-like knit fabric, it features washes, distressing, and hand stitching for a truly crafted look. A variety of cotton yarns, including crisp cotton, cotton slub, and bouclé-style cotton, are alternately knitted on the front and back with a single jacquard weave to create a twill weave. The slub yarns are interwoven to create a marbled texture. The fabric is also characterized by its smooth feel against the skin and extremely lightweight feel. Despite being a knit, the material does not stretch, highlighting the character and texture of the yarn, resulting in a unique material somewhere between a knit and a woven fabric. Because machines capable of double-sided single jacquard links weave are rare and can only be produced with a limited number of machines, this fabric is highly prized. After knitting, the fabric is washed twice to create a denim-like texture. The distressed areas are secured with a merlot stitch to prevent fraying, and then wire brushed to create a fluffy texture. The hem is intentionally left unfinished. All stitching is done by hand by artisans. The red selvedge on the back pocket is also handmade with crochet. Details such as the cinch back and coin pocket are also included. It is easy to care for as it is machine washable. The waist can be adjusted with the drawcord.
