How to care for washable wool knit products in the washing machine

◆Things to prepare

・Laundry detergent (neutral detergent) for fashionable washing
・Laundry net

Procedure

① Place the knitted item inside out in a laundry net (this will prevent the surface from fuzzing)
②Wash it in the washing machine using the "hand wash cycle" (please choose a gentle cycle)
③Dehydrate in a short time (if dehydrating in a washing machine, take about 30 to 60 seconds, or wrap it in a bath towel to remove moisture)
④ Dry flat (knit products should be left inside out and dried flat in the shade. The key is to gently adjust the shape to prevent it from losing its shape or shrinking.)

◆Notes (Please pay attention to the following points to prevent deformation and shrinkage)
① Please use a neutral detergent ② Avoid hanging to dry on a hanger ③ Avoid tumble drying

◆Dry cleaning at a cleaning store will not remove sweat stains, so if you are concerned about sweat stains, please specify washing with water.

How to care for washable wool knit products by hand

◆Points before washing
・Hand-wash knitwear with lukewarm water.
→ To prevent damage to the fabric, keep the water temperature at around 30℃ at the highest.
・Use fashionable detergents such as neutral detergents
→ Wool is sensitive to alkalis, so wash it gently with a neutral detergent.

◆Things to prepare
・Pail
・Fashionable detergent
・Laundry net sized to fit a folded sweater
・Softener (you don't have to use it. If you want to use fabric softener, please follow the specified amount)

◆Hand washing procedures
① First, fold the sweater neatly.
②Pour the specified amount of fashionable detergent into a bucket and stir by hand.
→ To prevent damage to the fabric, keep the water temperature at around 30℃ at the highest.
③ Wash the sweater by gently pressing it in the tub for about 3 minutes.
④ Drain the water in the pail and neatly fold the sweater in a laundry net. Put it in the washing machine and let it spin for 1 minute on "mild spin".
→ The laundry net should be just the right size. If it is large, tie the ends.
⑤ When the dehydration is complete, add water and the specified amount of fabric softener of your choice to the tub, and press and wash for about 1 minute. Avoid rubbing or massaging.
Also, it is no good to use leftover hot water at this time. Be sure to use clean water, as sweaters and knitwear may become contaminated with bacteria.
⑥ Dump the water in the pail and run the "mild spin" again for 1 minute to finish washing.
⑦ Place the knitted fabric on a spread out bath towel and wipe off the moisture while wrapping the bath towel around it.
⑧ Pat it with your hands to shape it and place it in a flat drying net. Hang the net in a place where it is not exposed to direct sunlight.
Please do not pull it to shape it.
Also, be careful not to expose to direct sunlight as this will not only cause fading and yellowing, but also increase shrinkage.

◆How to store knitwear
Store it folded rather than on a hanger, as this may cause it to lose its shape.
If you store it for a long time, folding wrinkles may remain, so if this happens, apply a pressing cloth and carefully apply a steam iron to create a fluffier finish.
If there are wrinkles that are difficult to remove, spray water with a sprayer to be more careful.
When wearing it, be careful not to rub it against your outerwear or bag or get it caught on belts or accessories to prevent pilling.
