Hand-Stitched Damaged Denim Knit Jacket

This knitted replica of Levi's first model features denim-like fabric, which is then knitted, washed, distressed, and hand-stitched for a truly crafted look. A variety of cotton yarns, including crisp cotton, cotton slub, and bouclé cotton, are alternately knitted on both sides in a single jacquard weave to recreate a twill weave. The slub yarns are pulled together to create a marbled look. It's also lightweight and comfortable against the skin. Despite being knit, it doesn't stretch, allowing the individuality and texture of the yarn to shine through, resulting in a unique material somewhere between a knit and a woven fabric. After knitting, the fabric is washed twice to achieve a denim-like finish. Distressed areas are secured with a merlotch stitch to prevent fraying, and then wire brushed to create a fuller, fuller look. All stitching is hand-sewn by artisans. The red tag on the chest pocket is also hand-knitted. The cinch back detail remains intact. Machine washable for easy care.
